Los Silos in the north of Tenerife - Holiday Homes in a very small town

Directly next to El Tanque, Garachico and Santiago del Teide at the westerly Atlantic coast of Tenerife you find the holiday place Los Silos.

The Teno Mountains and blue waves define the landscape picture here.

Historically Los Silos looks back at a long-time crop cultivation. Because of that you can best understand the name of the town as a translation of "granary". Because of the fruitful grounds also to explain with the meaning "breadbasket" of Tenerife. Unfortunately in the past some districts of Los Silos are - from an architecture point of view - not very successfully builded for every taste (big concrete structures).

Nowadays the centre of the town is the Plaza de la Luz. Discover the relaxing atmosphere of this little place in your vacation. It is characterised by chic houses equipped with typical Canary wooden balconies. Shops, restaurants and coffee shops are there too. Locals also visit Los Silos especially on the weekends of the summer months. Even locals visit Los Silos in the summer, especially on weekends. Therefore there are often more locals than tourists. There are two beaches in Los Silos. Playa el Puertito and Playa del Agua Dulce. For families with kids both are not really suitable (rocky coast as well as strong sea currents!).

Individual tourists like to live in a holiday apartment, a holiday house or a finca in Los Silos because of the proximity to diverse hiking routes in the Teno Mountains (depending on the conditions you can experience an up to two hours lasting hike here).

Furthermore the northern popular tourism hotspot Puerto de la Cruz (sights: Loro Parque and the Botanical Garden) is reachable in about 40 minutes of driving with the rental car.

The southern airport is located about 80 minutes away.

Advise: A public bus transport line also drives here.
