Many decades ago a Spanish conquistador first saw a native in the area of the today known La Guancha (natives are called Guanches in Spanish). This is also the origin of the name. Until today the original, Canary charm is still there. That makes La Guancha an ideal place for individual holidays in Tenerife. Nothing here reminds of mass tourism. A bit more than 5 500 inhabitants live here. Big hotel complexes like at the Costa Adeje (ca. 64 kilometres away) are not to be found in La Guancha - instead there are great holiday apartments and holiday houses. In addition to that, wonderful fincas in the middle of green landscape including sea view and a large outdoor area for a vacation are very popular. Shopping possibilities, bars and restaurants are also located in a comfortable proximity. In La Guancha you should definetly try one of the wines in your holidays. Because: The golden wines of La Guancha are some of the best on Tenerife.

For hikers furthermore the wonderful walking routes along the coast are to recommend (so not forget your camera). Who is a golf player will find pleasure in the about 30 kilometres distant Buenavista Golf (18-holes).

The cities Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava are reachable in a 30-minutes drive. In La Guancha a rental car would be an advantage.

The southern airport is about 100 km away.
