Mesa del Mar is a modestly and touristy coastal town.

Bathing tourists especially appreciate the Playa de La Arena. Playa de la Arena is a black volcanic beach, which flatly goes into the Atlantic and therefore also is suitable for children. Furthermore in Mesa del Mar there are natural seawater pools (Piscinas naturales). Attention: Do never underestimate the Atlantic sea currents.

In Mesa del Mar you can spend your holidays also totally individual in a holiday apartment or a holiday house. Shops as well as restaurants and bars are located in the immediate vicinity. Who prefers to relax in a finca including a big outdoor area and private pool, should do that either in the about 5 km distant town Tacoronte (wine cultivation area) or in the famous Orotava valley (banana plantations) all around Puerto de la Cruz (half an hour away with the rental car). Because fincas on Tenerife are mostly a bit remote, a rental car would be an advantage. For that during a holiday stay in a finca peace and silence is guaranteed. But Mesa del Mar is also perfect for golfers. The Real Club de Golf de Tenerife (18-holes) is reachable in a 20-minutes drive.

The next bigger cities like San Cristóbal de La Laguna (university city) and Santa Cruz (capital city) are reachable in a 30 minutes drive with the rental car.

The southern airport is located in a 77 kilometres distance.
