El Guincho in the north of Tenerife - The best houses in a quiet area

A sleepy, original Canary village in the north of Tenerife - that is how you describe El Guincho best.

In El Guincho tourism is a foreign word. Idyll and silence are a part of the everyday life here. Who wants to get some rest is totally right in El Guincho.

The pulse of many enthusiastic wanderers will start racing, when they will take a walk in El Guincho comfortably between banana plantations up to the sea and at the end explore a small bathing bay named "El Guincho" (popular for locals especially in the months of summer). If you want to have a longer walk during your stay, you should go to one of the oldest Canary dragon trees on a footpath to Icod de los Vinos (about 1 hour of hiking). Several other hiking routes are also in the vicinity of the natural monument Acantilados de La Culata.

All around El Guincho there are also very good local restaurants with Canary kitchen. Furthermore various shopping possibilities are reachable fastly. So this is the perfect spot for an individual vacation. Many holiday rentals for self catering like holiday houses and apartments are popular here.

Tip: Do not miss the around 3 kilometres distant town Garachico. The seawater swimming pools as well as the kitchen with freshly made seafood and international kitchen are just dreamlike in Garachico.

Also worth a visit is the northern, touristy town Puerto de la Cruz. From El Guincho it is reachable in good half an hour by rental car. Anyone wanting to visit a historical city, should either target La Orotava (30 driving minutes) or La Laguna (45 driving minutes).

You can best swing your golf club in the nearby town Buenavista del Norte (around 20 minutes by car). An 18 hole golf complex is already waiting for you in Buenavista Golf. Beginners would be better placed in the La Rosaleda Golf Club (Puerto de la Cruz / 9 hole complex).

In El Guincho there also exists a connection with the public bus transport. The soutehrn airport is located aboutt 70 kilometres away and is reachable in roughly 80 minutes by rental car.
